Liverpool transfer target ‘disgusted’ after failed deadline-day move

Liverpool didn’t add to their current squad on deadline day, although they agreed deals to sign Lucca Brughmans and Djylian N’Guessan.

In terms of attackers, the Reds were expected to sign one more attacker after Bradley Barcola‘s arrival from PSG.

Cody Gakpo’s future was directly linked with their search for another frontman as the Dutchman was heavily linked with a move to Manchester City before the transfer deadline.

However, Liverpool pulled the plug on his sale after unsuccessful attempts to sign both Ismaila Sarr and Yankuba Minteh.

And if reports are to be believed, Sarr is reportedly ‘disgusted’ with his situation after his failed move to Anfield.

Ismaila Sarr ‘disgusted’ after failed Liverpool move

Journalist Lasanna Camara has the inside track on the matter as he made an elaborate post on X about Sarr’s frame of mind.

“Blocked by Crystal Palace, Ismaila Sarr is disgusted,” wrote Camara on X.

“While Liverpool has made two significant offers to secure his services, Crystal Palace has refused to let Ismaïla Sarr go. According to those close to him, the Senegalese international would be “disgusted” by this situation.

“You can’t block a 28-year-old player who has two big offers on the table, especially when it’s Liverpool.”

“In football, it sometimes happens that a player is faced with a harsh reality: having an opportunity within reach doesn’t necessarily mean having the freedom to seize it.

“And some doors close, not due to lack of merit, but because others decide when they open.”

Earlier today, Pierre Sage also confirmed that Sarr will take some time to recover from the transfer saga, so it has clearly gotten to his head.
