Liverpool will return to training at Melwood this week but one player will not be present.
As reported by the Liverpool Echo, even though Loris Karius has terminated his loan deal at Besiktas, he is not allowed to be registered for the remaining Premier League games and as such, the decision has been made for him to stay away from the training complex to minimise any risks.
Liverpool’s players have been given tests in the last few days ahead of their potential return, whilst tests will also be offered to the family members of the Reds’ squad, meaning Melwood should be a very safe working environment but Karius will still be asked to train at home.

It’s been a difficult few months for Karius and it might have been good for his morale if he did return to training at Melwood to work with the likes of Alisson, Adrian and the club’s other goalkeepers.
However, a lot of work is being done to keep Melwood as sterile an environment as possible so bringing a player into training who can’t play in games does seem pretty pointless, so the Reds choosing to keep Karius away from the group makes perfect sense.
