Man United aim to hijack Liverpool move to Thiago Alcantara

Manchester United are looking to hijack Liverpool’s reported move to sign Bayern Munich star Thiago Alcantara, according to a report from BILD (via Sports Mole).

Liverpool are reportedly keen to sign the 29-year-old international, a player who Jurgen Klopp admitted being likes, but as it stands, no love looms to be imminent.

United, according to the report, are considering a move for the 29-year-old, giving them the option to play a dream midfield of Thiago, Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba.

It remains unclear if Liverpool are in the market for Thiago at this stage, with there being very little transfer action seemingly happening at the club at this time. However, it has been reported that the player is looking for a new challenge away from Bayern.

Regardless if their club are or aren’t after the Spaniard, there will be a fair few Liverpool fans who’ll be hoping that the Spanish international doesn’t move to United as he’s got the quality to make them a much-improved side.

From a United point of view, signing a player of Thiago’s ability could be a huge step on the way to the Manchester-based club starting to compete for the league title once again.
