- Salah to announce next club soon
- Has been in talks with several clubs
- Leaving Anfield after nine years
An Egyptian national team staff member has revealed that Liverpool legend Mohamed Salah will announce his next club in the next few days.
Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah announced his decision to leave Anfield at the end of the season, bringing an end to his nine-year stay at the club. The winger had signed a new deal in 2025, but was cutting it short by a season after a fallout with head coach Arne Slot.
The former Chelsea man’s agent, Ramy Abbas Issa, insisted in March that they were not in talks with any club, nor was an agreement in place for him next season.
Mohamed Salah has picked his next club
Muhammad Murad, the media coordinator for the Egyptian national team, has revealed that Salah has picked his next club. He claimed that the reports of talks with several top clubs across Europe and Saudi Arabia were true.
He spoke to Four Four Two this week, saying that the announcement of the next club was close. He hinted that the winger was set to stay in Europe and said:
“There are news stories being written about him having offers from Italy and France and other big teams in the world – this is, of course, true, he is a big star and would be a big addition to any team. Whichever team Salah picks, we will support him – he [also] has offers from Saudi… I think in a few days he will announce his next destination.”
Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid and Barcelona have been linked with Salah in recent weeks, but there has been no official word from the Egyptian or his agent.
Salah might have played his last Liverpool match
Salah got injured in the 3-1 win over Crystal Palace last week, and has undergone scans in recent days. Liverpool are yet to announce the extent of the injury, but reports suggest he has a hamstring tear and will need a month to return to action.
Egypt’s national team director, Ibrahim Hassan, commented on the injury this week, saying the winger would be out for 4 weeks but would be fit for the FIFA World Cup. He said:
“Mohamed Salah’s injury is a muscle tear, and he will be out of action for 4 weeks. The technical staff of the Egyptian national team will monitor the developments in his condition, and God willing, he will be present at the World Cup as normal.”
A four-week absence would mean that Salah will be back to full fitness after the Premier League season ends for Liverpool.
