Speaking at a lecture at Liverpool University earlier this week, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola said that he “can’t be f*****d” reading about Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp every week.
A student had asked the City boss which books he enjoys reading and he jokingly replied:
I don’t read. I start reading and before I know it I am reading about Jurgen Klopp. I can’t be f**ked with that!
Klopp and Guardiola are managing the two best teams in the country at the moment and there are set to be plenty more battles between their sides in the upcoming years but it looks like, unlike past rivalries between top managers, there seems to be a respect and admiration between the German and the Spaniard.
Liverpool are hoping to finish above City in the league table this season and win their first Premier League title.
