Ramy Abbas Issa who is Mohamed Salah agent has broken his silence and was back on the front foot. The agent, who has never been shy about making his feelings known on social media delivered a stinging rebuke to those already claiming to have the inside track on his client’s next destination.
The “Egyptian King” is officially entering his final act at Anfield, but don’t expect a quiet stroll toward the exit.
In a move that has sent shockwaves through the football world, Mohamed Salah confirmed on Tuesday evening that he will leave Liverpool at the conclusion of the 2025-26 season.
Despite having a contract that was supposed to run until 2027, the 33-year-old has reached an “agreement” with the club to walk away a year early likely on a free transfer prioritising a transparent farewell over a summer of messy negotiations.
But while the departure is now set in stone, the destination is anything but.
Abbas speaks out
Within minutes of Salah’s emotional video being posted, the vacuum of information was filled by rampant speculation linking the forward to the Saudi Pro League and Inter Miami. However, Salah’s long-time representative, Ramy Abbas Issa, was typically forthright in his assessment of the “insider” reports.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter) to silence the noise, Abbas delivered a stinging rebuke to those claiming to know the player’s next move.
“We do not know where Mohamed will play next season,” Abbas wrote. “This also means that no one else knows. Beware of the click attention seekers.”
A nine-year legacy in numbers
The timing of this announcement allows the Anfield faithful to savor the final weeks of a player who has quite simply redefined the role of a wide forward in the Premier League. Since arriving from AS Roma in 2017, Salah has been a statistical juggernaut, helping the club to two Premier League titles and a Champions League crown.
Liverpool’s own statement echoed the sentiment of a chapter closing with mutual respect:
“Mohamed Salah is to bring the curtain down on his illustrious career with Liverpool FC at the end of the 2025-26 season. The forward has reached an agreement with the Reds that will see him close a remarkablenine-year chapter at Anfield.
“Salah expressed his wish to make this announcement to the supporters at the earliest possible opportunity to provide transparency about his future due to his respect and gratitude for them.”
With seven league games remaining and a mouth-watering Champions League quarter-final against PSG on the horizon, Salah is determined to end his stay as he started it: winning.
“Unfortunately the day has come,” Salah said in his farewell video. “I never imagined how deeply this club, this city, these people, would become part of my life.
“Liverpool is not just a football club, it’s a passion, it’s a history, it’s a spirit. We celebrated victory. We won the most important trophies and we fought together through the hardest time in our life. I want to thank everyone… especially the team-mates past and present. This club will always be my home to me and my family. Thank you for everything. Because of all of you, I will never walk alone.”
The wage bill will be significantly lighter this summer to the tune of a reported £25 million per season—but the hole left on the right wing will be immeasurable.
As Abbas says, no one knows where Salah is going next. But everyone knows exactly what Liverpool are losing.
