Real Madrid set to target Virgil van Dijk should Sergio Ramos leave this summer

Real Madrid will make a move for Virgil van Dijk this summer if Sergio Ramos leaves the La Liga giants.

That’s according to Sports Mole via Spanish outlet AS, who suggest Los Blancos have identified the Premier League Player of the Year as a potential replacement for Ramos, amid speculation regarding the Spaniard’s future at the club.

Liverpool are understandably reluctant to listen to any offers for their key man, who has been an instrumental figure for Jurgen Klopp’s side following his move from Southampton.

Interest in Ramos is thought to be high given the confusion surrounding his future, and both Liverpool and Manchester United have reportedly contacted the Spaniard’s representative over the possibility of a move this summer.

Ramos, however, may not be an instant fan favourite should he move to Anfield this summer, after his challenge on Mohamed Salah injured the Egyptian in last season’s Champions League final.
