We are all living in very uncertain times and to see a local player make such a contribution is fantastic.
Firstly, it is a gesture of appreciation for the amazing NHS staff who are literally risking their lives to help keep us all safe and hopefully, it will give them a little boost.
Secondly, the donation will help a local business out a lot in this very difficult period for the catering and hospitality industry.
Footballers are often accused of being in their own bubbles away from the fans and the public, but Trent’s gesture is just another example of how Liverpool’s players have a real connection with their community.
