Liverpool made four new signings in the summer transfer window and it’s safe to say they’ve already made massive impacts.
However, Jeremy Jacquet’s start to life at Anfield has been beyond everyone’s wildest dreams.
The Frenchman has dominated virtually every game he’s played for the club and has forged a fantastic relationship with Virgil van Dijk.
And Jamie Carragher believes Jacquet is already the best centre-back partner Van Dijk has ever had at the club.

“It’s also to do with Virgil’s age, but it almost feels like Jacquet is the first centre-back who’s starting to look after Virgil rather than the other way around,” said Carragher via The Overlap.
“Even though he’s only played eight Premier League games, I already feel he’s an upgrade on everybody else Virgil has played alongside.
“I know it’s early to say, but he really does look the part. Virgil was always going to need that at some stage where he just has to play his own game.
“He can’t look after a back four. He can’t look after a centre-back partner. I think we’re at that stage now with Van Dijk, still playing well, but he should just be left to play his own game.”
This is high praise from Carragher but we can see where he is coming from. Jacquet is just starting off and has forged a fantastic partnership with the Liverpool skipper, which could ensure he can play a bit longer as he doesn’t really have to cover for his teammates anymore.
