Virals: Liverpool urged to sign Genk striker Paul Onuachu

Liverpool have been told to consider the signing of Genk striker Paul Onuachu ahead of upcoming transfer windows.

The 27-year-old Nigerian is far removed from the profile of frontmen currently at Jurgen Klopp’s disposal – making the ace the perfect candidate to mix things up.

That’s the surprising view of Genk technical director Dimitri de Conde, who believes the Reds would benefit from Onuachu’s services.

Speaking to Het Belang van Limburg (via Goal), as cited by All Baller Zone on Twitter, De Conde suggested Liverpool should be keeping an eye on their towering frontman.

Did you see Liverpool against Chelsea? Liverpool have the best strikers, but none with the same profile as Onuachu. He would have scored against 10 men. I’m not saying that Paul would play 90 minutes every week in Liverpool, but a club like that could really use him.

Earlier this year, Spanish outlet Fichajes.net claimed that the Reds were weighing up a move for Onuachu ahead of the summer transfer window.

That switch filed to materialise as the 10-cap Nigerian remained in Belgium – scoring three times in the opening seven matches this season.

Standing at a neck-straining 6ft 7in, Onuachu would certainly provide a different weapon to Klopp’s armoury.

Currently, the only striker that comes close to matching the Nigerian’s physique is Divock Origi – a player who has ultimately struggle to thrive on Merseyside.

Valued at £18million and under contract until 2024 (Transfermarkt), Liverpool could test the water in January were a fresh face to be required.

Despite a giant frame, Onuachu possesses more than just aerial threat and boasts a plethora of attacking attributes that would endear Klopp to the possibility.
