Jurgen Klopp has set his sights on Napoli forward and Italian international Lorenzo Insigne if he’s forced to sell Philippe Coutinho this summer.
The Mirror reports that Klopp has held a longstanding interest in the Napoli man, who is a key part of Maurizio Sarri’s side.
Coutinho has been linked with a summer move to Barcelona and is believed to have submitted an official transfer request at Anfield.
Despite reports of his desire to leave, the German manager is said to be desperate to keep hold of the influential playmaker, who missed the visit to Watford through injury.
The news of the Brazilian’s potential departure has left the Reds scrambling in the transfer market to try and identify a possible replacement.
Napoli are determined to keep hold of Insigne, who is valued at close to £60 million. Insigne scored 18 league goals for Napoli in Serie A last season and helped guide Napoli to a third place finish.
