‘Rapid’ – Steven Gerrard in awe of Liverpool attacker’s recent displays

Liverpool moved to fourth in the Premier League table with a commanding 2-0 win against Brighton at Anfield.

The Reds raced off the blocks and effectively won the game in the first half thanks to an own goal from Pascal Gross and Alexander Isak’s sixth Premier League goal of the season.

Bradley Barcola was once again the provider for the Swede’s goal, as was the case vs Brentford last week.

And Steven Gerrard has heaped praise on the Frenchman’s speed, adding that his recent displays could well turn out to be the foundation for the rest of the season.

Barcola nicked the ball off the Brighton backline and used his devastating pace to create space for himself on the right flank before supplying a fantastic cross for Isak.

“He looks rapid,” said Gerrard via The Overlap.

“He’s also now looking match fit with more minutes under his belt. He’s had a fantastic ten days/two weeks; the touch paper’s lit now.

“You can see the player Liverpool have signed.”

The former Liverpool captain went on to heap praise on Liverpool’s attack after their recent displays across all competitions.

“It’s a really exciting mix if you can keep them all fit and available, firing and contributing.”

Imagine adding Hugo Ekitike to this…
