Liverpool linked with January swoop for Emerson Palmieri

Liverpool are plotting a January move for Roma left-back Emerson Palmieri, according to Gazzetta dello Sport reporter Nicolo Schira.

The Reds were heavily linked with the defender in the summer, but no move came to fruition as Jurgen Klopp opted to land Andy Robertson from Hull City instead.

However, it appears as though Klopp is not yet satisfied with his option at left-back, despite Alberto Moreno’s level of performance undoubtedly increasing in the early stages of the season.

Palmieri, who is just 23, is continuing his recovery from a serious knee injury sustained last season, but has clear talent and potential.

The Brazil-born defender has previously been claimed to have shown interest in a move to Anfield, but whether or not Roma will be willing to part ways with such a promising player midway through the season is yet to be seen.
