Suso reiterates his desire to remain at Milan
Spanish midfielder Suso has reiterated his desire to stay at Milan this summer, despite continuously being linked with a return to Liverpool.
Speaking to The Guardian, Suso has played down speculation he could leave, claiming he remains a key part of the club’s project in Serie A.
I’m very happy at Milan. Always when there are rumours about me leaving I reiterate that I am happy here and I think the club is with me. I have a release clause [€40m] and that was something both the club and my agent wanted. If the club wants to continue to be among the top sides and count on me then I am here for them.
The Reds have been linked with a summer move but now appear to be turning their attention towards Nabil Fekir of Lyon.
With Milan missing out on Champions League football, there had been some suggestions Suso could be one of the players sold to make up for the financial losses, but that no longer appears to be the case.
Both players had been earmarked as potential long-term replacements for Philippe Coutinho, who left for Barcelona in January.
Suso has come into his own since joining Milan, becoming a key player for Gennaro Gattuso’s men.
A lot was expected of Suso when he first joined Liverpool, but a lack of consistency meant he was unable to break into the side.
