Lyon give Liverpool a deadline to complete Fekir deal
Lyon have reportedly told Liverpool to complete a deal for Nabil Fekir before the end of the July if they want the player this summer.
The Liverpool Echo, who cite French outlet L’Equipe, reports that the Reds are now in a race against time to get a deal over the line.
The 24-year-old was very close to completing a move to Merseyside last month after the clubs agreed an initial fee of €55 million, with the Frenchman even recording an unveiling interview with the club ahead of the switch.
However, the Reds pulled out of the deal following the result of his medical, but the winger was fit enough to feature for France at the World Cup.
He came off the bench during the final against Croatia but was limited to a bit-part role throughout the tournament.
Lyon chairman Jean-Michel Aulas indicated earlier this week that Fekir’s future is still very much up in the air and that the deadline has been set in order to aid the club’s preparations for the upcoming season.
Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has so far made three additions to his squad this summer with the arrivals of Naby Keita, Fabinho and Xherdan Shaqiri.
