Thiago and Naby Keita could both potentially be available for Liverpool’s Champions League clash with Ajax, Jurgen Klopp has announced.
The Reds open their European account for the season on Wednesday night, making the trip to the Johan Cruyff Arena.
They will have to make do without the services of the stricken Virgil van Dijk, but there is more positive injury news away from the Dutchman.
Thiago was on the receiving end of an appalling tackle by Richarlison on Saturday, but his injury doesn’t look too serious.
The Spaniard will be assessed before Wednesday’s game, but his involvement hasn’t been ruled out.
Keita, meanwhile, is available to play after testing negative for COVID-19.

Following the devastating news surrounding Van Dijk’s long injury layoff, it is vital that Liverpool have other key players fit and firing.
Thiago may only have played one-and-a-half games for the Reds, but it is already clear what a special talent he is, enjoying a pass completion rate of 91.3 percent.
It has to be considered a huge positive that his injury is not serious, particularly given the nature of Richarlison’s challenge.
Keita is another important figure, but he is still waiting to fully explode in a Liverpool shirt.
With Fabinho likely to be dropping into a centre-back role in the coming months, the Guinean could have more opportunities to start games and fully showcase his brilliance. Klopp needs him to fire on a consistent basis.
