Some Liverpool fans have been lauding Andy Robertson, following an end-of-year social media post from the Reds star.
It was a disappointing evening for Jurgen Klopp’s men on Wednesday, as they drew 0-0 away to Newcastle United.
It means Liverpool are now only three points clear of Manchester United at the top of the Premier League, with their arch-rivals having a game in hand.
On a night when too many Reds players fell below their usual standards, Robertson was again impressive.
The Scot offered endless energy down the left flank and also defended doggedly throughout at St James’ Park.
Robertson has been one of Liverpool outstanding players so far this season, with his status as one of the world’s best left-backs in no doubt.
After the Newcastle game, the 26-year-old took to Twitter to post a message to Reds supporters, as 2020 comes to an end.
Not the way we wanted to end the year. It’s not been the easiest but we hope we made all you smile in 2020 in an incredibly tough year #YNWA pic.twitter.com/J2nRaiAdq0

These Liverpool fans were quick to respond to the defender, showing their love for him.
Well done Andy you are the driving force of the team at the moment and yes you have made us very proud. League champions and still TOP!
