Liverpool’s move for Ozan Kabak has seemingly edged closer, with journalist Fabrizio Romano confirming that Arsenal have terminated Shkodran Mustafi’s contract.
The German looks almost certain to be a direct replacement for Kabak at Schalke, with the 20-year-old heading to Anfield later on Monday.
Romano states that the deal has reached its ‘last steps’, indicating that the centre-back will be a Liverpool player come the end of the day.
A lot appears to have hinged on Mustafi’s future, but now that has been sorted, the Reds should be able to complete a deal.

Assuming the transfer is completed, it will be a huge sigh of relief for anyone of a Liverpool persuasion.
While Jurgen Klopp’s side have dealt admirably without Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Joel Matip and Fabinho in recent games, it is still vital that centre-back reinforcements are made.
Kabak is an exciting talent who is known for his aerial prowess, winning 4.1 aerial duels per game in the Bundesliga in 2020/21, as well as enjoying an 87.9 percent pass completion rate.
