Djibril Cisse tips Liverpool to sign Kylian Mbappe this summer

Former Liverpool striker Djibril Cisse has tipped the Reds to sign Kylian Mbappe this summer.

The 22-year-old’s future at Paris Saint-Germain is up in the air, with a move to Anfield or Real Madrid mooted in recent months.

His current deal expires in the summer of 2022, so PSG would have to sell him this year in order to receive a huge fee for him.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Cisse talked up Liverpool’s chances of signing Mbappe, claiming he is the best in the world currently:

To be honest I spoke to a few journalists, we were talking about Kylian Mbappe, because he’s the best in the world at the moment.

And [for] me, I see him in Liverpool, big time. It’s a lot of money. A big, massive investment but I think that the boy is worth it and I see him there.

Along with Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland, I think Mbappe is the world’s most exciting young player at the moment.

At just 22, he has already achieved so much, winning the World Cup with France and scoring 96 goals in 137 Ligue 1 appearances for PSG.

With Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino now all nearing 30, Jurgen Klopp will have to start thinking about freshening up his attack in the near future.

Mbappe’s pace, trickery and devastating end product would make him an ideal candidate to come in this summer, although his price tag would surely make him a club-record signing for the Reds, so funds may have to be generated through sales of other players.
