Liverpool fans react as Maguire claims Klopp has influenced referees

A number of Liverpool fans have been mocking Harry Maguire’s comments regarding Jurgen Klopp, with the Manchester United captain hinting that the German is influencing referees.

The Reds had another day to forget on Saturday afternoon, losing 3-1 away to Leicester City. On Sunday, United had the opportunity to pull eight points clear of their rivals, as they made the trip to struggling West Brom.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side could only draw 1-1 away to the Baggies, however, meaning they have won just one of their last five Premier League games, failing to make the most of Liverpool’s woes.

Speaking to MUTV after the game [via the Liverpool Echo], Maguire insinuated that Klopp’s comments about United getting too many penalties has now seen referees fail to give them key decisions, after the England international failed to win a spot-kick against West Brom:

Ever since other people from other teams spoke about us we’ve had absolutely nothing from the referee or VAR.

At the moment we’re playing without them so we’ve got to make sure we’re not leaving the game in the hands of the referee or the VAR.

These Liverpool fans have been reacting to the comments on Twitter, joking that Klopp has done some brilliant mind games:
