Carlo Ancelotti confirms Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Allan are available

Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Allan will be available to face Liverpool in the Merseyside derby at Anfield on Saturday evening.

Ancelotti confirmed the pair will be available or the clash during his pre-match press conference as relayed by Phil Kirkbride on Twitter.

The duo’s availability comes as a huge boost for the Reds’ across the park rivals and will be sure to heighten the nerves around Jurgen Klopp’s squad ahead of a pivotal encounter.

Everton are aiming to win their first match at Liverpool’s home since September 1999 and arguably, given the lack of fans and circumstances surrounding the two sides, this could present a huge opportunity to end that hoodoo.

Calvert-Lewin has 13 goals in 20 league games in 2020/21 and will pose a genuine threat to what will likely be a makeshift Liverpool backline given their injury absentees.

Allan meanwhile possesses different qualities and will act as a spoiler in midfield will look to thwart any attacks Klopp’s side can mount.

This game has bigger implications than normal with the two sides evenly matched in the league standings, putting potential Champions League qualification on the line as well as the usual local pride at stake.

matchday.
