Jurgen Klopp hails ‘outstanding’ award-winning Mohamed Salah

Jurgen Klopp took time out to hail Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah after the Egyptian was handed another individual honour on Thursday night.

The 28-year-old was honoured with the Laureus Sporting Inspiration award after funding a new school, hospital and ambulance unit in his hometown of Nagrig.

Those efforts during the global pandemic stood out as the flying winger followed in the footsteps of sports stars who have also used their platform for the benefit of society previously.

Manager Klopp led the congratulations for his main man on and off the field and Laureus Sport on Twitter showcased the German’s kind words.

Everybody knows, when you think about Mo Salah, you think first and foremost about an outstanding football player, a great goalscorer, a super technician and a good-looking guy probably! What you don’t see and what you maybe don’t know, is what kind of good person he is. If I tell you he’s an even better person than he is a player, then you might be able to imagine what kind of guy he is. Mo, to you, well-deserved, congratulations, it’s a big one, another big one for you.

Salah has been the figurehead for the Reds this season, topping the clubs scoring charts with 29 goals in 43 appearances across all competitions.

Liverpool truly have a global star on their hands in their Egyptian King.

When you consider Salah was signed for just £34million (BBC) from Roma, having struggled to make an impact at Chelsea previously, the meteoric rise has been phenomenal.

Currently holding a market value of £99million, Klopp is certainly well aware of how special talent is currently gracing Anfield.

matchday.
