The summer transfer window is active and the Reds have already found themselves at the heart of the rumour mill.

Even prior to the window opening, the club had been linked with an abundance of attacking talent.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano had previously stated that fans can expect further signings during the window.

This came after the club announced the addition of Ibrahima Konaté from RB Leipzig for £36million.

However, further reports have now suggested that the club won’t be looking to sign another attacker this summer.

It seems as though news each day has to be taken in perspective, as does the latest name to be linked with the Reds.

According to Sky Sports Germany, via Rousing the Kop, Liverpool are set to open talks with PSV for Donyell Malen.

The 22-year-old Dutch striker has been in fantastic form for the Eredivisie side this season, scoring 27 goals with 10 assists.

This summer has seen Malen as part of the Netherlands’ Euro 2020 squad, with him starting against North Macedonia on Monday.

The Dutch won the game 3-0 thanks to a fantastic assist from Malen for Memphis Depay’s opening goal.

With a market value of £27m, Malen could be available for a reasonable price this summer.

However, given the mixed messages from various reports about Liverpool’s transfers, it is still unsure.

One thing for sure is that Malen would be a fantastic signing, that can add another dynamic to the clubs attacking options.

Last summer saw the addition of Diogo Jota who rightfully earned his place among the starting XI at times.

It is an incredible feet to dislodge the front three of Sadio Mané, Roberto Firmino, and Mohamed Salah.

There is no doubt that Malen has the same capabilities as Jota to do this himself if the club were to make a move.
