Ben Woodburn has enjoyed a meteoric rise over the last 12 months which has put him on the radar of some pretty big clubs.
After making his senior debut in November last year against Sunderland and scoring his first goal for Liverpool in his very next game against Leeds in the EFL Cup, Woodburn has been a constant figure in the Liverpool first-team squad.
The 18-year-old attacking midfielder made nine appearances across all competitions last season and has been included in Chris Coleman’s recent Wales squads, scoring on his international debut against Austria to hand the Welsh a crucial win.
Spanish media outlet Don Balon say that Barcelona want to sign Woodburn along with Philippe Coutinho who remains a long-term target for the La Liga giants.
Woodburn has already been touted as the ‘next Gareth Bale’ after an impressive start to his professional career but it’s clear that he’s held in high regard at Anfield and the Reds, who are preparing to offer Woodburn a second next contract in under a year, have no intention of letting him leave.
