Liverpool successfully fended off interest from Barcelona in Philippe Coutinho during the summer transfer window but the La Liga side aren’t ready to give up on their pursuit of the Brazilian playmaker.
Barcelona chief executive Oscar Grau stated earlier this month “we are ready to buy Coutinho in the winter market” and they are taking steps towards that goal, after having scouts watch Coutinho during Liverpool’s defeat away at Spurs last weekend.
Jurgen Klopp was desperate to keep Coutinho in the summer, as were owners Fenway Sports Group who published a statement claiming they would not sell the Brazilian for any price and despite offers exceeding £118m, they stuck to their word.

Coutinho remains committed to Liverpool with the World Cup on the horizon but the player is understood to be interested in completing a move to Barcelona so it could be a matter of when, not if.
That being said, Liverpool’s stance on the matter has not changed and Coutinho remains strictly not for sale.
