When Barcelona are locked in on signing a player, they don’t often miss out on their man even if they’ve been told no.
Liverpool stuck to the guns and rejected several offers in the summer from the La Liga side to sell star attacking midfielder Philippe Coutinho who has since been reintroduced into the first-team after handing in a transfer request last month.
Coutinho illustrated his worth to the Reds after picking up a goal and an assist in Liverpool’s 3-2 win away at Leicester last weekend.
Barcelona have made Coutinho their top transfer target and will make a renewed bid to sign the Brazilian next summer, according to Brazilian news outlet UOL.
Liverpool rejected offers in excess of £130m for the 25-year-old playmaker in the summer after the Fenway Sports Group issued a statement that they would not be selling Coutinho at any price.
Jurgen Klopp’s side look a vastly improved unit with Coutinho in the starting eleven but if he continues to put in man of the match displays then that will only encourage Barcelona to come back in for the player.
