Ben Woodburn to return to Liverpool after breaking his foot

Liverpool loanee Ben Woodburn has been ruled for three months after a positive start to the season.

The Oxford number ten had made an impressive start to the season at the League One club. After a largely unsuccessful spell at Sheffield United last season, Woodburn had already managed one goal and two assists at the League One side, becoming a fan favourite already.

Sadly for the youngster, his progress will be delayed as he is unlikely to play again until the new year. The 19-year-old is out with a fractured metatarsal.

This is very disappointing news for the Welshman as he had finally been getting regular first-team football but both and Oxford will be hoping he can continue his form when he returns to them, as he will now, as per the Evening Standard, head back to Liverpool, who will be in charge of his rehabilitation.
