Blow for Liverpool as Haaland is being tracked by Man City and Man United

Rumoured Liverpool target Erling Haaland is being tracked by both Manchester City and Manchester United, according to the Independent‘s Miguel Delaney.

The Norwegian is one of the most sought-after players in world football at the moment, having scored 39 goals in just 41 appearances for Borussia Dortmund.

Haaland has been tipped to join Liverpool in the recent past, but they have been dealt a potential blow with this latest update.

Delaney claims that ‘the two Manchester sides are watching closely’, while the striker’s dream is to play in Spain, even though that may be hard in a financial sense currently.

Liverpool aren’t mentioned in the report, suggesting they are outsiders to acquire his signature.

While failure to sign Haaland would be a blow in itself, the idea of him joining either City or United makes it twice as bad, considering he would make both stronger.

The Dortmund superstar could be at the very top of the game for the next decade, so whoever snaps him up will be getting a sensational prospect.

Not only is Haaland’s goalscoring record relentless, but he is also a giant physical presence – he is 6ft4in tall –  possesses pace and links up effectively with those around him.

Liverpool would have to break the bank to sign the youngster, but he could be worth every penny.
