Liverpool midfielder Philippe Coutinho has vowed to give his all for the club this season, ESPN have reported.
The Brazilian international was at the centre of one of the summer’s longest transfer sagas recently. Coutinho handed in a transfer request as he looked to force through a move to Barcelona, but the Reds were adamant in their stance that he was not for sale, and therefore refused Barca’s offers.
I’m calm. It’s all passed by. I’m here to defend the colours – to give my maximum.

Coutinho has only recently returned to the first-team fold at Liverpool, and is beginning to have a greater involvement under Jurgen Klopp. Most recently, he started and scored Liverpool’s goal in their 1-1 draw away at Spartak Moscow in the Champions League.
It wasn’t really the result we wanted. But we have to keep working and there are more games, another four games to come.
It’s been reported in recent times that Barcelona will reignite their interest in Coutinho when the next summer transfer window rolls around. However, Liverpool will be hoping to keep hold of one of their star men for a while, with Coutinho willing to fight for the club.
