Liverpool won’t have to battle Dortmund for Werner

Liverpool won’t have to battle Borussia Dortmund for transfer target Timo Werner, according to German football magazine Kicker.

Bayern Munich had also been chasing the 22-year-old whose current contract at fellow Bundesliga side RB Leipzig runs out in 2020.

Werner is being watched on by many of Europe’s top clubs ans it had been believed that Dortmund were one of these after the completed the transfer of Christian Pulisic to Chelsea for £56m earlier in the transfer window.

Pulisic will not complete his move to Stamford Bridge until the end of the season but Dortmund are still eyeing up a successor.

Bayern Munich are favourites at the minute to sign Werner, but Jurgen Klopp’s side could be tempted to bid for the young forward.

Werner already has 11 goals in his 18 Bundesliga appearance this season fro Leipzig and is one of the league’s biggest up and coming talents.
