Roberto Firmino has been in fabulous form for Liverpool this season and has called on his teammates to maintain their focus for the final 11 games of the Premier League.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Firmino discussed the task at hand and insisted that the Reds must ensure that they do not take the eye of the ball in their pursuit of a strong finish.
We’ve started the month of February in good form. We won two matches away from home – one in the league, one in the Champions League – and I hope that we can keep the focus to achieve our objectives and that we are able to give our best on the pitch to achieve the aim of getting wins.
Firmino has enjoyed his best season to date in a Liverpool shirt and has been prolific in front of goal. This, coupled with his telepathic relationships with both Sadio Mane and summer signing Mohamed Salah, has made for an exciting season so far for the Reds.
The work is not done for Liverpool, though, and there is still plenty of football to be played. Jurgen Klopp’s men will be keen to finish as close to runaway league leaders Manchester City as they possibly can, and they will also be hoping to go all the way in the Champions League.
I hope that our team is focused on the objective we have in mind – to get the win (against West Ham) – but for that, we need to give our best.
Firmino is a massive player for Liverpool and his rallying cry is sure to be heard by his teammates.
