Garth Crooks makes opinion U-turn on Mohamed Salah

Rather unbelievably there are some who still detract from Mohamed Salah‘s achievements as a Liverpool player.

Despite breaking a plethora of records since arriving on Merseyside, the Egyptian has struggled to convince everyone of his prestigious talents.

One of those has been BBC Sport pundit Garth Crooks, often a man to criticise the 29-year-old’s performances as being self-motivated.

However, following a remarkable performance on Sunday against Manchester City, Crooks has been forced to perform a U-turn.

It’s official: Mohamed Salah is back to his best and being the player I saw arrive at Anfield four years ago. Regular readers will know that I have had my issues with Salah when I thought he was chasing the golden boot award the moment the first ball of the season was kicked. Not anymore. Against Manchester City he was unselfish, showed blistering pace and sublime finishing. The ball for Sadio Mane to score was sensational while his own goal was just breathtakingly brilliant in such circumstances. Great to you have you back, Mo.

Salah was in inspired form for the Reds, setting up Sadio Mane for the opening goal before performing wonders to dance through the City defence and fire Jurgen Klopp’s side back into the lead.

Watching this man is an absolute privilege.

Perhaps in his most lethal form since becoming a Liverpool player, with the Egyptian at this level, anything is possible this season – as the superstar suggested himself on Instagram (via Redmen TV on Twitter).

As for Crooks’ opinion, how anyone could doubt the £90million valued great man is beyond comprehension.
