Liverpool are reportedly set to take young Honduras defender Wesly Decas on trial in the coming days.
According to a report from Diez, a publication from Decas’ homeland, he will travel over to Liverpool after he caught the eye of their scouts whilst playing for his country in the Under-20 World Cup qualifiers.
Decas, who plays at left-back for Argentinian club Atletico Independiente, is claimed to be set for a trial at both Under-19 and Under-23 level with the Reds, featuring in training for both of the development squads in the coming days.
The 17-year-old will be hoping that he can impress the coaching staff at Liverpool and will hope to push himself into the picture at youth level in English football.
Of course, this signing wouldn’t be one with any kind of short-term basis to it, but the Reds look to be scouting the U20 World Cup qualification rounds to find the next batch of talent.
