The Guardian reports that the Bundesliga club contacted Liverpool on Wednesday to tell them that the player is not for sale this summer.
Jurgen Klopp’s side have continuously been linked with the player who stood out for Leipzig in their debut Bundesliga season.
The Reds are prepared to smash their current transfer record to bring Keita to Anfield this summer, but Leipzig are refusing to budge.
Liverpool are refusing to give up on their pursuit of Keita and look at alternatives because they believe that the player wants to move to Anfield this summer.
Leipzig are desperate to keep the nucleus of their squad together as they prepare for their first season in the Champions League after finishing second in the German top flight.
