Jurgen Klopp looks set to miss out on one of his key summer transfer targets, Mahmoud Dahoud, as reported by RB Sport, cited on Calcio Mercato,
The Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder will reject the chance to join the Premier League side, in the hope of completing a move to join Thomas Tuchel’s Borussia Dortmund.
Both Dortmund and Serie A side Juventus are thought to be interested in the 21-year-old, who has impressed for Gladbach in recent seasons.
Klopp was hopeful of completing a deal for the midfielder due to his history in the Bundesliga, but now look set to miss out on the player to his former side.
The Syrian-born midfielder has represented Germany at youth level and is widely expected to leave the Bundesliga club at the end of the season.
A move to Tuchel’s side may boost his chances of breaking into the German senior side after making his U21s debut back in March 2016.
