Liverpool are interested in signing Kylian Mbappe from AS Monaco this summer and have a plan to convince the talented youngster to join them.
L’Equipe, as cited on Get French Football, claim Klopp has met with the player’s agent last month to discuss the prospect of the Monaco forward moving to Anfield next season.
Mbappe has been coveted by Europe’s top clubs already this summer with Arsenal, Chelsea, both Manchester clubs and Real Madrid all being credited with an interest in the player, who is likely to cost over £100 million.
Klopp hopes to convince the Monaco striker by making him a key part of his project at Anfield.
The Reds are in need of a new number nine this summer after struggling to find the right fit last season.
Both Roberto Firmino and Daniel Sturridge featured in that position for Liverpool last season, but neither could consistently find the success needed to mount a title bid.
