Naby Keita has come under some criticism for his performances in the Bundesliga this season, but RB Leipzig sporting director Ralf Rangnick has been quick to heap the praise on the midfielder.
Guinean international Keita is all but set to sign for Liverpool next summer. An agreement has been reached between the two clubs for the future transfer after a drawn-out transfer saga in the summer resulted in no immediate conclusion.
In an interview with German magazine Kicker, as cited by Goal, Leipzig chief Rangnick hailed Keita as one of the best he’d ever worked with in football.
He’s one of the best I’ve worked with in 20 years of professional football. I’d also prefer, 10 times, that we’d kept him for another five years – but we are just not able to pay salaries in excess of €10m.

Keita, formerly of RB Salzburg, enjoyed a quite superb season last term. He produced several impressive displays in the heart of midfield for Leipzig, attracting the interest of several top clubs across Europe.
However, the Reds were able to strike an agreement with Leipzig, and will have the enigmatic midfielder at their disposal for the 2017/18 season.
If Rangnick’s comments are anything to go by, Liverpool fans can be excited about what Keita will bring to them.
