Liverpool reportedly ‘plotting swoop’ for Spanish winger with £35m valuation

Liverpool have found themselves at the forefront of the transfer rumour mill once again.

The Reds have been heavily linked with a number of Europe’s elite so far this summer, and it doesn’t seem to be slowing down.

Following Dutch midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum’s departure, the club is reportedly looking for a replacement.

The likes of Saúl Ñíguez, Youri Tielemans, Renato Sanches, Florian Neuhaus, and Otávio have all been rumoured.

However, the latest player linked with a move is a world away from the box to box midfielders previously mentioned.

According to Football Insider, via ESPN, Liverpool are plotting a swoop for Wolves and Spain winger Adam Traoré.

The club has been previously linked with a move for the 25-year-old last summer and in the winter.

Due to his poorer performances, last season with just two goals and three assists, Jurgen Klopp and the club feel they can negotiate a better deal.

In January, per the report, it was rumoured that Wolves were looking for around £35million for the Spaniard.

However, it is likely that this fee will drop down this summer given his form and lack of game time for Spain during Euro 2020.

It is likely that a fee for Traoré could be closer to his current market value of £27million on Transfermarkt.

There is no denying that the winger is a talented player, with incredible pace and ball-carrying ability.

Last season saw Traoré average 4.1 dribbles per game in the Premier League, producing some great performances towards the tail-end of the campaign.

It is clear that the winger would not be viewed as a replacement for any of the current front three.

Despite this, there is no denying that the Spaniard would provide some incredible quality in depth.

The Reds are in need of players with enough quality off the bench to make the difference in games for next season.

Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mané cannot carry the team each week, and Traoré would be more than an adequate backup.
