The attacking midfielder has scored just the one goal in the Championship this season but has registered two assists.

United will be desperate to keep hold of Brooks until at least the summer, but the report suggests that the Premier League duo could make a move in January.

Brooks was born in Warrington but has already represented Wales at senior level.

He made his international debut in a friendly against Panama, where he was voted as Man of the Match.
