Rio Ngumoha was a shining light for Liverpool as they secured a 4-3 UEFA Champions League win against Villarreal.
Starting on the right flank, the England international was virtually unplayable on the night as he supplied two brilliant assists for Ronald Araujo and Alexis Mac Allister.
Earlier this week, Ngumoha claimed his agent is handling contract talks with Liverpool after his strong start to life under Andoni Iraola.
And now, he may have just let slip that he is staying at the club, referring to the Anfield faithful as the best fans in the world.
Rio Ngumoha drops big hint that he’s staying at Liverpool
“It’s still a dream come true here at Anfield, screaming my name all the time,” said Ngumoha via UEFA after the game.
“We have the best fans in the world, I always say that; it’s a top feeling.
When probed further on what has changed this season, Ngumoha claims Iraola has instilled a different mentality at the club right from the minute he walked through the doors at Anfield.
“I think just the mentality, really. Everyone knows last season, from the team’s point of view, wasn’t good enough. So this season we couldn’t repeat the same.
“The new gaffer has come in, and he’s instilled a different mentality. From the first day of pre-season to now, we’ve got so much better in training and there’s definitely another level to go.”
Judging by his comments, Ngumoha is loving life at Liverpool, so it could only be a matter of time before he signs that new contract.
