While a handful of players endured fantastic individual displays, Virgil van Dijk was uncharacteristically sloppy, especially in the first half.

And the Liverpool skipper took to Instagram to own up to his mistakes, which goes to show just how good a leader he is.

“Not my best start to the game. I take that on the chin. Incredible response from the team. Proud of the boys!”

Ultimately, his mistake didn’t cost Liverpool and it happens to the best players, so Andoni Iraola won’t dwell too much on it.
