Liverpool are planning one or two major swoops before Thursday’s transfer deadline but will be hoping to add t the funds by offloading a player of two in the process.
One player who is likely to leave the club is Mamadou Sakho who hasn’t played for Liverpool since April 2016 having had a falling out with Jurgen Klopp during pre-season last summer.
Sakho was made an outcast and spent the second half of last season on loan at Crystal Palace where he impressed in limited game time and now Liverpool are ready to cash-in.
Palace are keen on signing the France international but face competition from Leicester and West Brom for his services, with the Reds confident they will receive £30m for the centre-back given the interest in him that will drive up the price.
Liverpool have snubbed multiple loan bids for Sakho, including offers from Crystal Palace and Inter Milan as they stand firm on their £30m asking price but they believe that one of Palace, Leicester or West Brom will meet their demands as pressure mounts with the transfer window closing on Thursday.
