Liverpool were keen on signing a midfielder this summer before Philipe Coutinho handed in his transfer request amid Barcelona links and Emre Can was receiving offers from Juventus, and it appears as if they’re closing in on one.
According to TMW, the Reds are about to seal a deal with Ligue 1 side OGC Nice for the transfer of their star midfielder Jean Michael Seri this summer.
Seri caught the eye for Nice last season, scoring seven goals and providing nine assists in Ligue 1 helping them qualify for the Champions League this season and has since been linked with the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham, Roma and Barcelona.

After seeing multiple bids turned down by Red Bull Leipzig for Naby Keita, Liverpool turned their attentions to Seri and are poised to land the midfielder in a deal worth €22.5m.
Looking to bolster their squad so they can battle on multiple fronts this season, fending off the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham, Roma and Barcelona to land Seri’s signature can be considered a major coup for Liverpool.
