Liverpool will look to sign Dusan Tadic from Southampton this summer as an alternative to other potential deals.
The Times reports Tadic has a £13 million release clause at St Mary’s and would be open to a move to Anfield this summer.
Jurgen Klopp is in the market to strengthen his squad as he prepares for a Champions League campaign next season.
Tadic is thought to unhappy with life at Southampton under Claude Puel, who himself is under pressure and could be out of a job this summer.
A deal for the player may be more difficult to negotiate after the fiasco involving Virgil van Dijk, with the Saints accusing Liverpool of ‘tapping up’ the defender ahead of a proposed move to Anfield, which later fell through.
Liverpool have been linked with Mohamed Salah and Sporting’s Gelson Martins, but at £13 million, Tadic could be seen as excellent value for money in today’s market.
