A number of Liverpool fans are delighted after James Pearce’s lighthearted update ahead of the Premier League clash with Wolves.
The Reds entertain Nuno Espirito Santo’s team on Sunday evening, on what should be a special occasion involving Liverpool, with 2,000 supporters back inside Anfield for the first time since March.
The virus affecting the world has meant no fans have been present at the Reds’ world-famous ground throughout 2020, but there does slowly appear to be some sort of normality returning to football.
On Sunday, Pearce took to Twitter to confirm that Blur’s ‘Song 2’ will no longer be played after Liverpool score, due to supporters being back in the stadium.
Told that the return of 2,000 supporters to Anfield today means that ‘Song 2’ by Blur will no longer blare out when Liverpool score. That is very good news. #LFC

It hasn’t been an addition that some have liked at Anfield, especially with the song having no relevance to the Reds in the slightest.
These supporters reacted to the news on Twitter, expressing their happiness at the song being ditched.
