A number of Liverpool fans have been left touched by the reaction to Roberto Firmino’s goal against Leicester City.
The Reds were superb on Sunday night, seeing off the Foxes with ease, winning 3-0 at Anfield.
Jonny Evans’ own goal set Liverpool on their way to victory, before in-form Diogo Jota made it 2-0 with a clinical header before half-time.
Arguably the most pleasing moment of the game came late in the day, however, as Firmino guided home a header.
It was only the Brazilian’s second goal of the season, during a prolonged period of poor form.
The 29-year-old hasn’t been at his best throughout 2020, but there were signs of him clicking back into gear against Leicester.
As Firmino wheeled away in celebration in front of the Kop, it was clear to see how happy Liverpool’s players were for their popular teammate. He received endless hugs, in what was a lovely moment to witness.
It has clearly been a tough time for Firmino and the celebrations suggest the other players are very much aware of it, too.
These Liverpool supporters took to Twitter to discuss the moment, as the Reds’ unrivalled team spirit was again highlighted to perfection at Anfield.
Made up for Firmino, been one of the best players on the pitch today and the celebrations there showed how made up the team were for him.
