Liverpool have “best front four in world football”, claims Graham Potter

Brighton manager Graham Potter has paid Liverpool a huge compliment, claiming they have the “best front four in world football.”

The Reds visit the Amex Stadium on Saturday lunchtime, taking on a Seagulls side who sit 16th in the Premier League.

Jurgen Klopp could be afforded the luxury of starting Diogo Jota, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino, should the Liverpool boss decide to go with a 4-2-3-1 formation.

Potter is well aware of how special the Reds’ attacking quartet are, and speaking in his pre-match press conference, he described them as the best forward line on the planet:

He (Diogo Jota) fits in really well there, with what they’re trying to do, gives them another dimension and be able to play with a front four.

Maybe with Mo Salah up front and Firmino as a 10 – that can work. You’ve probably got the best front four in world football arguably so credit to Liverpool. They’ve identified someone who they think can help strengthen and I think he’s done that.

They’re a formidable attacking unit that’s for sure and the team behind them of course but those four are very dangerous.

I think Klopp should go for the 4-2-3-1 system on Saturday, opting for an attacking approach at the Amex.

There isn’t a huge amount of options in midfield, due to injuries and Fabinho playing at centre-back, so playing more attackers makes sense.

That would mean Jota and Mane taking up right and left-sided role respectively, with Firmino in the No.10 position behind Salah.

With all four on the pitch, and with Firmino showing signs of returning to form, Brighton could find it extremely hard to cope.
