Liverpool keeping tabs on David Alaba situation

Liverpool are likely to offload Alberto Moreno in the summer with the Spaniard never really nailing down the left-back position for himself, meaning the Reds will be a man light in that area.

I’d reported that Liverpool are among a host of clubs keeping tabs on David Alaba’s situation at Bayern Munich ahead of a potential summer bid for the Austria international.

In a recent interview with Austrian outlet Kurier, Alaba admitted that he could see himself taking a different path having achieved everything there is to achieve at Bayern.

I am aware that I one day will have to make the decision, and I still feel great here. But I can also imagine taking a different path, making the next step or seeking a new challenge.

But I leave that open for now. I have goals for this season I want to reach. That’s why there is no place for those thoughts right now.

The 25-year-old left-back is being seriously targeted by both Barcelona and Real Madrid for a big money move to La Liga.

Alaba came through the ranks at Austria Wien before joining Bayern for just £135,000 in the summer of 2008 where he’s gone on to become a first-team regular, helping them win six Bundesliga titles and the Champions League over the last decade.

Along with Liverpool, Barcelona and Real Madrid, both Arsenal and Manchester United are also monitoring his situation.
