Liverpool are keeping a close eye on West Brom defender Ahmed Hegazi, according to ESPN.
The Egyptian international has been in good form since arriving in England despite the Baggies’ poor start to the season. He has been largely utilised alongside Jonny Evans and has settled in well.
Hegazi is on loan at West Brom from Al Ahly, a club in the player’s homeland, and it’s stated that sources close to the Egyptian outfit are claiming that Liverpool and Leicester City are keen to land the defender.

The Reds have had well-documented issues at the back and aimed to rectify them in the summer through the addition of Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk. However, their efforts proved to be unsuccessful, as they ended the summer window with no additional defender.
However, it seems they are still keen to land a centre-back in January, with Hegazi said to be under consideration by ESPN.
