Liverpool make ‘concrete approach’ for midfielder

Liverpool and Arsenal have both reportedly made ‘concrete approaches’ for AS Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko.

The Premier League clubs may be forced to wait until the summer to conclude any deals with the French side unwilling to sell during the current transfer window.

Bakayoko, who is predominantly a defensive midfielder, has attracted plenty of interest from around Europe following a string of impressive performances in Ligue 1 and in the Champions League. The Frenchman, who stands at 6ft tall is a ‘no-nonsense’ midfielder, who is strong in tackle.

The 22-year-old has been ever present in the Monaco side that sit second in the Ligue 1 table.

They sit two points behind Nice as they aim to beat Paris Saint-Germain to the French title.
